Gram and Pop

Gram got the idea to play in the grocery bags I have saved... It was like leaves on steroids! We had a blast!

Gram and Elliot and his new boots! Thanks so much Gram and Pop!

Eskimo kisses! (horrible camera)

We went on the tour of the visitors center in Kirtland.

Then to the Christmas Story House! Did you know that movie was filmed here?

Ralphie's bed!

Elliot being Randy haha, not Randee my sister...

haha

Chagrin Falls!

Getting ready for pumpkin carving!

He had a great time at first...

Then the guts made him a little "noyvous"

Then the lighting made him terrified... priceless picture...

My dad built this tower. The funny part is, Elliot has never let me build something taller than two blocks without crushing it. But, for some reason when Pop built it, it stayed!
Okay, I am so mad at blogging right now, this is my third attempt and something keeps going horribly wrong. It won't let me type before my pictures and this post looks like a total mess... don't judge me, I am too tired to fix it. Anyway, so these are a few pictures of the great time we had with our visitors. And what we learned is there is nothing better than the moment your visitors arrive. It had been 106 days since the dreaded last goodbye. I had the whole house cleaned, the attic ready, all the snacks I could think to buy (for all the anticipated movie nights) and I had literally talked to Elliot about Gram and Pop coming so much that Elliot would cheer whenever I mentioned it... (I'm not sure he really knew what he was cheering for though hahaha.) Then Saturday came. We were sooo excited we were just waiting by the door. And to my total satisfaction, for the first time in long time, the anticipation was totally trumped by the actual event! All the sudden they pulled-up in their rental car. Jace and Elliot were on the porch, it was past Elliot's bedtime, but we didn't care. You know that feeling when you hope your kids will react the way you want. Well we were all a little weary of what Elliot's first reaction might be. Would he cry? Would he be scared? Would he remember who they were right away? (this was mostly my mom's concern... of course we knew he would remember them!) Well let's just say Elliot totally came through for us, in a huge way. It is the understatement of the year to say that he was BESIDE himself! I think he could have fainted from happiness. We were all teary-eyed with joy! He was such a character, dancing and running around and giving everyone hugs over and over, we could have watched him all night! Needless to say, we had a blast! We got spoiled in every way. What I have learned is, although goodbyes are rough, (and I, personally, was not designed for them) they make hello's so incredible! Oh what would I do without my parents. We are some lucky kids, that's all I can say! We are soo looking forward to the next visit... although that means I will have another child... oh dear. P.S. did I mention my mom completely decorated "her" entire room! Yeah my mom's amazing! Those pictures will be coming soon! If I ever blog again... since this one has taken me 6 hours!

  3. Hahaha okay so you are the only person who knows the truth. For some reason I thought I was having twins this time because I got confused, but you were there when we did it! so it was a girl next! Jace thinks we have defied the pencil!I am due Jan 12 and I am pretty sure we are naming her Mae. Yeah I totally remember that night when we "chose" names, such good times! Or that time when we would watch Gilmore Girls all day... oh how things have changed. But tell Todd I'll make him some mashed potatoes if you guys come to Cleveland haha. I am so glad to hear from you. But really we should just talk on the phone one of these days! P.S. your hair is adorable and tell Todd Jace says he's adorable!
