Last game of the season

So we were able to spend about 9 days total with my parents. We spent about 4 days on the road with them and then  we arrived to Cleveland and they stayed with us for another 5 days. If it wasn't for them I wouldn't have survived the first week here. Between the two of them, they made our house feel like a home. My mom took on the job of deep-cleaning the kitchen, bathroom and everything else in between, along with wallpapering (it's a long story). And my dad became mover and yard worker of the year. Did I mention that he and Jace had to cut our spring board in half to get it up the stairs because the homes built in 1925 apparently weren't equipped for queen sized beds? Who knows. Also, did I mention that my dad used a kitchen knife to edge our yard, because the edger we had didn't work. Yeah, so from babysitters and grocery shoppers, to home cleaners and decorators, to most importantly, moral supporters, it's needles to say my parents deserve an award. Not to mention the sixty hours on the road they sacrificed for us! This is why saying goodbye to them was the most difficult thing I have ever done! You know that feeling when everything inside you feels sad and confused and mostly heartbroken. That's how the last night they were here felt. We were all pretty somber and I looked over to my dad and he said, "It's the last game of the season." For those of you who don't speak in sports metaphors, that meant he had an amazing time, he loved his team and he was really sad to see it all come to an end. Coming from my dad it said everything. But lucky for us, we get to be on the same team forever, and I don't have to wait around until the next season to see them again. Saying goodbye to them is still hard to think about. I have never known so much love, support, sacrifice and friendship in my entire life. But I just know I will be okay because they will always be there!

P.S.
I will be posting pictures of our new place as soon as we finish it up!

  1. I'm so glad you made it! What a drive, you guys are pretty much amazing. How's our little El man? Give him hugs and kisses from us and call when you get a chance. I would love to hear more about the drive, edging the lawn with a knife and cutting your bed in half...good stuff!
